From midday on Monday of this week, Queenslanders are free to move around the state, with the exclusion of Indigenous communities. While the chance to reopen is welcome news for many tourism operators, it has caught many off-guard. For caravan park operators in North Queensland, winter is peak season, with travellers heading north to escape the cold in southern states.

But Queensland’s borders remain closed, and that is something Mr Young says he hopes will change sooner rather than later. Spokesman, Keelan Howard, said the nature of caravanning and camping reduced the risks.

Although they need considerations we can help disperse any concerns or fears of legal and safe towing. In this section we will discuss the legal implications of towing, and discuss the safety of towing with your car. Depending on when you passed your driving test will dictate the size and weight of the caravan you can legally tow.

There is a magic date of January 1st For UK drivers that passed their test before this date, they would have more entitlements on their driving licences and can tow larger caravans. If you passed your driving test before January 1st you can tow with a combined weight car and caravan of up to 7,Kg.
